Darren Baker

Darren Baker, CEO

Darren is a solutions-led financial expert with extensive knowledge across the industry, particularly in the property and investment sectors. He has worked in the financial world for over 20 years, for the French insurer Groupe des Assurances Nationales and Scottish Amicable, before establishing Peritus in 1998. It was at that time Darren became aware of a real need for a company that could offer financial solutions, a complete financial service, and do it in an approachable, friendly manner. Peritus was born and stands by its original core objectives of bespoke client care, developing financial strategies and helping businesses grow.

 

 

 

Caroline Singleton

Caroline Singleton, Head of Compliance

Caroline joined Peritus in May 2023, having worked within the banking, mortgage advice and IFA sectors for over 20 years. She achieved chartered status in 2020 and has expertise in compliance, paraplanning and operations, as well as having been an adviser herself. She is passionate about people and this is reflected in her specialist areas of interest, including achieving the right client outcomes through suitable advice, and the training and development of advisers and support teams.  She believes the key to compliance is understanding the spirit of the regulation, having a solid framework which reflects this, and combining this with some common sense.

 

 

 

Doreen McCaghey

Doreen McCaghey, Business Development Manager

Our business development manager, Doreen, has over 10 years of experience within the property sector gained in the estate agency and build warranty arenas.

At Peritus Doreen supports the team by driving new business. As our in-house build warranty specialist, Doreen manages build warranty provision for clients as well as maintaining productive relationships with build warranty providers to ensure the best terms for clients.

 

 

 

Rachel Tanner

Rachel Tanner

Rachel joined Peritus in June 2022, having previously been employed working with Sainsbury’s Bank Mortgages and Zephyr HomeLoans. Rachel has a wealth of experience in the mortgage sector working for lenders and brokers since 2017.

Rachel’s role within Peritus is Mortgage & Compliance Administrator. Her role as compliance assistant is to provide support to the compliance officer. Rachel helps to complete essential tasks such as ensuring all staff training is complete and up to date, recording and monitoring financial promotions, compiling data for KPI reviews along with a series of other monthly tasks. Rachel has a keen eye for detail and works as part of the comprehensive admin support team; providing excellent administration support for our advisers and clients.

 

 

 

Jo Southern

Jo Southern, Marketing Coordinator

Jo joined us in 2016, bringing with her a wealth of experience working with clients as diverse as industry specialists, researchers, creatives and academics – a background that has served her well in her marketing role here at Peritus. An award-winning creative designer with a real aptitude for interpreting client requests, Jo has a keen eye for detail and an infectious enthusiasm for her subject.
